The Silver Run/Union Mills Lions Club offers two $1,000 scholarships, ($500 a semester for the first two semesters) to two graduating high school students who reside in the 21158 zip code area. The purpose of this Fund is to honor the lives of John W. Hopkins and John C. Leister by providing two $1,000.00 scholarships, divided equally between the first two semesters.
Eligible students will be pursuing higher education at an accredited institution which may include a trade or technical school, a two-year program leading to an Associate’s Degree, or a four-year college or university leading to a Bachelor’s Degree. The successful candidates will demonstrate financial need, be involved in community activities with an emphasis on community service, and show scholastic ability.
